Breast lift surgery Correction of sagging busts

Surgery is most often performed following childbirth, breastfeeding, or major weight loss due to sagging, change in shape or feel (tenderness) of the breast. Plastic surgery can restore the youthful shape of the breast. After the correction of sagging breasts, incisions are always inconspicuous and discreet. There are several well-established forms of breast lift. The most suitable method is chosen during the preoperative consultation.

Advantages: youthful, naturally shaped, firm breasts even without a bra. Attractive, beautiful cleavage in a cut-out dress or swimsuit. More self-confidence.
Anaesthesia: anaesthesia
Surgery time: 2 - 2,5 hours
Length of hospital stay: one night in hospital
Suture removal: after 2-3 weeks
Special bra: 3-6 weeks
Cessation of sports and physical exertion: 6 weeks

Breast lift

During the procedure, the breasts are repositioned and reshaped.
The extent of the breast lift always varies depending on the patient's capabilities, which also determines the technique I choose for the procedure.
During the consultation, after the needs assessment, a planning session will follow, where I will draw the surgical area, determine the correct position of the nipple and the amount of skin to be excised. During consultations, the question of where and how much scar will be left after the procedure is always raised.
This is determined by how sagging the patient's breasts are, because I base the technique on the extent of this sagging. The graph below shows the scar lines.
The less scarring, the less sagging of the breast.

More about scars:

I use the highest quality suture materials and the most precise suture technique for the aesthetic appearance of the scars and I also place a high emphasis on scar management, but scarring is dependent on the patient's endowment and genetics, which is independent of the above methods and can greatly affect the final aesthetic outcome.

Who is a breast lift recommended for?

A breast lift is recommended for patients who for some reason have sagging breasts that are not aesthetically pleasing, healthy or comfortable for them.
During a breast lift, the patient's own breasts are shaped and no implants are inserted, if the patient also wishes to increase the size of their breasts, a breast lift with implants will be the right procedure for them. (internal link) A breast lift will result in firmer, rounder breasts that may appear smaller in appearance, although no breast tissue is removed, only excess skin is excised. If you want smaller breasts, a breast reduction procedure may be right for you (internal link).

The breast lift surgery procedure:

On the day of the surgery, the patient should arrive at the clinic as arranged with the assistant, where he/she will occupy his/her room, fill in and sign the necessary paperwork, After talking to the anaesthetist and scrubbing the surgical area, the patient will take a shower, change his/her clothes and after a short consultation, a thorough planning will follow, when I will plan and draw the surgical area. The patient is then given a sedative, an IV is administered to the patient's arm and the patient is escorted to the operating theatre. The anaesthetic used during the breast lift is general anaesthesia. The operation takes approximately 1.5-2.5 hours, with drain tubes inserted at the end of the operation, which are removed in most cases on discharge the following day. The patient wakes up in their room with the compression bra on, and is given antibiotics and painkillers as needed. The duration of the clinical stay is 1 night of in-patient care, during which time she is with qualified nurses in 1 or 2 bedded rooms.

After the breast lift

Regular check-ups are required after the breast lift with the first check-up being within a week.
The next 10 days is when the sutures are loosened, the 3rd check is 3 weeks after the operation when the sutures are removed. After the surgery, a special bra is recommended for the first three weeks a compression bra is worn, which is put on the patient at the end of the surgery, and can be replaced by a sports bra for the following three weeks. A break from sport and physical exertion is recommended for 6 weeks.
Return to work is always determined by the type of work, which is discussed during the consultation. A follow-up examination is required at 3. 6. 12. months after surgery. Thereafter, it is recommended to have a breast examination once a year and a breast UH or Mammography every two years.
The final shape of the breasts develops in the 3-6 months after the operation, it is a completely natural process that the breasts are firm and swollen after the operation. As time passes, the swelling goes down and the breasts adjust to their natural position, resulting in a naturally shaped breast with a softly rounded top and bottom.

Important to note: The shape of the breast is permanent, but if you gain weight and lose weight or breastfeed again, it may sag again, which may require another operation. It is therefore recommended that the operation is carried out after the birth of the planned child. Of course, it is possible to get pregnant again and breastfeeding is not hindered by the operation. In some cases, breastfeeding may be affected by a more extensive operation

More about scars: For the aesthetic appearance of the scars, I use the highest quality sutures and the most precise suture technique and I also place a high emphasis on scar management, but scarring depends on the patient's particularities and genetics which are independent of the above mentioned methods and this can greatly affect the final aesthetic outcome.
