Injection treatment
Spider veins come in several forms. There are so called star bursts or tree branch veins. These are thin 1 - 2 mm wide web-like veins immediately under the skin. These are primarily aesthetic problems, which can be treated with injections. This is normally done by injecting 0.5-1 % Aetoxysclerol directly into the thin veins.
This causes the veins to close, then disappear. Slight pigment variation may remain where the injection was given (veins several millimeters wide can also be treated with Aetoxysclerol).
Varicose surgery
Large, expanded, winding veins can only be treated with surgery. At the Virányos Clinic we use a technique developed by Professor Virady which is known worldwide as Esthetic Varicose Surgery. Sections of the dilated veins are removed through tiny, 1-4 mm, incisions with miniature crocheting needles. Functionally and aesthetically, the results of this surgery are outstanding.
Advantages: Removal of dilated, winding, troublesome veins. Tiny, barely noticeable scar. Minimal post-op pain. Short absence from work.
