Liposuction is a plastic surgery procedure to banish local excess fat. It is a very effective method for correcting the contours of small areas, so fat observable in some areas or still protruding after a slimming diet can be tackled mainly around the abdomen, the hips, the buttock area, the waist, the thighs and the knees. Thin cannulas can also be used for shaping the ankles, the face and the jowl. In an ideal case, liposuction can be performed as an outpatient intervention, by local anaesthesia. In case of liposuction in an area larger than 4 areas of the body it is recommended to apply general or epidural anaesthesia with one night of hospitalization. Surgery is performed through very small (2-5 mm) hidden incisions. It is recommended to wear an elastic body compression outfit for several weeks after surgery. The results of liposuction are lasting as the number of fat cells is considerably reduced in the area concerned and they will not develop again. Even in case of putting on considerable weight, the bodily proportions established will be preserved, with no excess obesity on the part of the body treated.
Important: The change after liposuction can be measured primarily in centimetres, rather than kilograms.
Benefits of liposuction: improved contours, more attractive forms of the part of the body concerned, 2-5 mm long, hardly noticeable, hidden surgical scars.
Method of anaesthetization: local or general or epidural anaesthesia
Surgery time: 20-30 minutes per area of the body
Duration of clinical treatment after liposuction: out-patient or 1 night of hospitalization
Compression clothing to be worn: 6 weeks
Removal of sutures: after 1 week
No sports: 3-6 weeks
Liposuction is a plastic surgery procedure to banish local excess fat. It is a very effective method for correcting the contours of small areas, so fat observable in some areas or still protruding after a slimming diet can be tackled mainly around the abdomen, the hips, the buttock area, the waist, the thighs and the knees.
Liposuction can be best applied in the areas of the abdomen, the hips and the thighs, but it is also possible to shape the ankles, the face and the jowl. Surgical intervention is most frequently performed in local or general anaesthesia.
As a result of surgical intervention, the contours of the area and the part of the body are considerably improved, gaining a more attractive shape. It can be mentioned as an advantage that surgical scars are only 2-5 mm long, hidden and scarcely observable.
Liposuction is performed by through tiny and hardly visible incisions. The results of liposuction can be considered as lasting as the number of fat cells is considerably reduced in the area concerned and they will not develop again. In the event of putting on weight, the bodily proportions established will be preserved, with no excess obesity on the part of the body treated. The duration of liposuction surgery is 20-30 minutes per area of the body. Excess fat is always removed by vacuum. Methods differ in the manner of loosening fat. On this basis, the following methods of liposuction can be distinguished: traditional (the surgeon’s physical strength), ultrasound, vibration (PAL) and laser. During the course of surgery, local or general anaesthesia can be applied, or rarely epidural anaesthesia.
As the change after liposuction can be measured primarily in centimetres, rather than in kilograms, it is not suitable for overweight people or people with too much fat deposited. It does not substitute for but rather complements a slimming diet.
After liposuction, clinical treatment is received by outpatient care or 1 night of hospitalization. After surgery, compression clothing is required to be worn for 6 weeks and suture removal is due after 1 week. No sports activities are allowed for 3-6 weeks after the intervention.
